Must install with kernel in safe mode. Choose KDE desktop if you want to be able to use native 1400x1050px resolution.

If you update the kernel beyond what is on the standard 10.3 install disk then you will only render the desktop on the LHS of the screen - disable kernel updates to keep it in full screen!

Wireless and wired networks function, as does USB. Not managed to get it to actually hit the off switch - you have to pull the battery out to actually kill it (although it seems happy on a restart if you do this). Similarly with suspend to disk - it sleeps fine, and even if you have to pull the plug as described it will still restore your session.

to 1280x800 with the command: "855resolution 3c 1280 800" in the file /etc/rc.d/boot.local or for SUSE 10.1, follow the instructions given in Patch the Video BIOS. Enjoy!!!

Compiz-Fusion is slower than it should be up to at least NVIDIA driver 177.80 due to the power minimizer feature. Touchpad default configuration makes 50% of the touchpad vertical scroll, solved by using a default usb mouse driver for it instead. (Or getting the latest Synaptic driver) If combined with an intel wireless 4965AGN card it works sporadically

Working: Nvidia8600GT, SD/MS slot (MS part not supported yet), webcam, audio, battery charge level and button (via latest compal-laptop module), CIR module with rc6 remote - upgrade of lirc is needed (with ene0100 module support, there were also a bug in acpi that has been already corrected and shipped in linux-2.6.32-rc3), fingerprint reader, all button leds beside the mute led, DVB part of YUAN Hybrid TV card (1164:1f08). Doesn't work: Mute button led, YUAN Hybrid TV card (analog/radio part) - no analog framework support in dvbusb - there were plans to do it but the chances that this project will start are smaller day by day..
