Remark

Up to openSUSE 11.2:
(7) Needs proprietary Linuxant HSF modem driver.
(11) Only works after unloading Linuxant HSF modem driver using 'hsfstop' command.
(*) Firewire: Icon-checked.png
(*) Touchpad: Icon-checked.png
see this post.

11.1 - 11.2:
(2) Using open source Radeon driver; only works for some apps (e.g. GoogleEarth).

11.3 - 11.4:
(7) Needs proprietary Linuxant HSF modem driver, but version matching correct kernel not available since openSUSE 11.3.
(9) Under recent KDE versions (4.5.x or 4.6.x; can't remember) brightness controls function properly again without the need for the spicctrl package.
(10) and (11) Suspend to RAM finally works, yet at the expense of Suspend to Disk, oddly.

11.4:
(1) Must download patches with Online Update to fix a display bug with the Radeon driver, which results in garbled displays on screensavers and other random places (i.e. LibreOffice Options dialog)

Remark

Results expandable to VGN-S360P and most probably VGN-S270 and similar.

(2) Using ATI driver.
(4) set kmixer to control PCM.
(11) Must turn off console framebuffer to get suspend to disk working, model is not on the suspend whitelist.
