openSUSE talk:Map
Since when Novell is a "founder" for openSuSE????????????????????????? --Jazzmelody 10:16, 30 September 2010 (MDT) NEVER.
It's offending for all developers before Novell came in.
- As I know "before Novell came in" there was no openSUSE project but something a bit like 'today's' boxed version called SuSE Linux and SUSE Linux.
- But maybe someone with more knowledge than me could (alternatively or cumulatively):
- Add or/and highlight the SUSE GmbH in this map (compare the entries on Google Maps, branchenbuchsuche.de, GeoHack and the de.wikipedia) and the description (or is it just there on the map but I did not see it as it is not highlighted?), the SuSE GmbH, the SuSE Linux Solutions AG, the SuSE Linux AG or legal entities like these?
- write an article on the History of openSUSE?

Novell IS the founder of openSUSE/Enterprise Suse which as a packaged and presented form of Linux. At no time is there a claim made nor insinuated the Novell is the founder of Linux. The Development of Linux, as we enjoy it today as openSUSE, would never have been made possible with goodwill, free manhours, development, production, established change management systems and distribution. It requires severe backing of invested dollars..The philosophy of Linux has never changed, the source code is freely available as an O/S. Its user interface that we all enjoy today using openSUSE requires backing yet it remains open and free

Maps Extension?
It looks like Maps extension is uninstalled from this instance of wiki. Maybe it's time to move this page to archive or reinstall the extension (if it was forgotten somehow during upgrade of mediawiki software). --Meksykaniec (talk) 15:37, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
