Step one: How do install a software ?

Hello everybody, in this wiki I am going to show as install a software in your openSUSE, well I am considering that your have your openSUSE ready, but if you need ask me. Installation in operation system like Linux in general can be hard or easy depend as your desire. All softwaremer need that you read its documentation in which you have step for installation, but in general the installation can be done with 3step. Well before your start, look that you need open the terminal where your software stay. If you don't understand, open with Alt +F2 and write in Run Application (this appear after Alt+F2) terminal, put the software in your home directory (use crtl+C and Ctrl+V) and unpacked, maybe you need write in your terminal cd <directory_name> (this command allow you access this directory) then you can start. With your terminal open write first ./configure and after ./make and after ./make_install.

The first step is./configure in which the script prepares the softwaremer for installation The second step is./make in which you have the compilation The third step is ./make_install in which you have installation of your softwaremer

The openSUSE like Linux work with this installation process, but you could have easy process with Yast, but what is it? Maybe you have search in the internet in a lot of sites some software and spend a lot of time with this, well the Yast is like installation manager, it work search and upgrade software for you. The Yast search in repository like software storage it list for you lot of software. You just need write software's name, choose and install. Do you need find on the internet? No, you don't anymore.

Well maybe you don't have an interface you ask me: Can I install some software? Yes , you can, You just need write in your terminal zypper and name software and choose some option and you have install your software. Well I wait help us.
