About me

My name is Sarah Julia Kriesch. I am 32 years old. I have worked with SLES since my German education in information technology (Computer Science Expert for System Integration) from 2009 until 2012. I had gone to the vocational school in Erlangen. I met the openSUSE Community in my last year of education. After that, I changed as a Linux-Systemadministrator to 1&1 Internet AG/ United Internet in Karlsruhe, where I had been working in the Monitoring Team for 2 years. October 2014 until May 2016. Then I was a Linux System Engineer and ITO Coordinator for SaaS systems at BrandMaker.

I am studying Computer Science in Nuremberg now. I am the founder of the Open Source AG and a Student Officer for Computer Science (Fachschaft Informatik). We are offering bi-weekly open-source workshops and I am the Linux educator for our Students. I am an elected Student Representative in the Senate and University Council. My latest project at our Faculty of Computer Science is moving the faculty to an open source faculty. Besides studying I have worked as a Working Student at ownCloud, as a Student Research Assistant and a Linux Consultant.

About my current projects

I am a member of the German openSUSE Translation Team, the Global Coordinator for Localization, member of the Release Management Team, and work in the German + main wiki as an admin. In addition, I hold technical presentations at open source events and in meetup groups.
