This article describes new features and changes in Zypper since openSUSE 11.2 until openSUSE 11.3

New features

  • rm command has new --clean-deps option which causes it to auto-remove any packages that become unneeded after removing the specified packages
  • Checking for running PackageKit. If it's running zypper offers to close it so that it does not stand in the way.
  • Update candidates that cannot be installed are listed as "The following package updates will NOT be installed.". Use zypper up package to check why.

Changes

  • Improved package selection and feedback.
