Evince is a document/PDF viewer designed for use on GNOME. It comes with the openSUSE GNOME desktop environment. It can also view postscript, djvu, tiff and dvi. Also it creates thumbnails for the desktop and the file mangager Nautilus. Evince supports LaTeX too. It can display LaTeX files and opened files can be edited with LaTeX.

It is also useful as an alternative file viewer and PDF printer solution in KDE but has the GNOME interface. A possible use is to install as the viewer when used with the PdfTk-QGUI , a software suite that allows manipulation of pdf documents from the visual interface. This is because Okular may not print or process some PDF files.
