openSUSE talk:Evergreen
Portal:11.1
I think this article openSUSE:Evergreen and Portal:11.1 should not only refer to each other and but the Portal should also be a bit more "evergreened". I have added a news box on the Portal and started something on Portal:11.1/News. But maybe someone with involvement in Evergreen and more knowledge of the openSUSE 11.1 Software and the project Evergreen would like to rewrite the introduction of the 11.1-Portal? Long Time Support (LTS)
Should the keywords Long Time Support and LTS be added (and described/distinguished/....?) on the project Page of Evergreen? What about redirects for all three keywords in the main namespace? Regards --Pistazienfresser 18:41, 13 February 2011 (MST)
Retention of all repositories
It would be great if all the repositories under http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/ could also be retained beyond the support cycle. I find it hugely frustrating if suddenly repos get dropped and then are nowhere to be found. Recently 11.2 versions of devel, education, graphics, etc just disappeared. No need to update packages just a snapshot of the last version of all the discontinued repos would be amazing.
Loss of a 32bit version
With leap going to x86_64 only, Evergreen is the last hope for those running older HW. Let's hope it goes well past November 2016 as currently listed. Throwing out perfectly good HW because it is not supported anymore would be a shame. Changing distributions doesn't suit in case you are wondering. Cheers leh015 14:45, 04 February 2016 (AEST)
