openSUSE:KDE Optimizations

Introduction

This is the page where openSUSE KDE users can propose optimizations for the openSUSE KDE packages. Optimizations can range from simplification of the KDE systemsettings, change of packaging (make items optional), etc.

A request can be indicated in the list below and each new request will be discussed during the next openSUSE KDE Team meeting. Approved requests have an action owner assigned, which is mentioned behind the request.

Optimization Requests

• Make social desktop optional (Still required after the move to Baloo) ?
• Simplification of the KDE systemsettings [SFaulken]
• Default application menu (Kickoff or Homerun Kicker) ?
• Phonon-backend-vlc as default
• VLC to replace Kaffeine as default video player
• KCM-touchpad to replace synaptiks as (default) touchpad tool
• Make YaST ('install/remove software') the default when clicking local RPM packages in Dolphin, instead of Apper
• QML Plasma-nm by default
