The original article started by stating that members are those who have made continued and substantil contributions. That implies that a membership is an aknowledgement of your efforts, and also that being denied membership means that your contributions are not aknowledged. It'd be better to tone this down.
It also suggests that if you'd like to contribute more, than you should apply.
Thirdly it emphasises some low cost perks. Perks that other companies not only provide for free, but acutally advertise for you to register for. I doubt anyone would provide substantial contributions simply for an email address. In other words, allthough a nice - not the real reason for people to join.
In addition to reducing the emphasis on aknowledgement and perks, I've added more titles to the Table of content becomes a guide to the process it self.
