SDB Talk:YaST tricks
su versus su -/su -l/su --login
To start the YaST Control Center in text mode simply type 'yast' on command line - (e.g. in xterm, konsole). + e.g. in an xterm or in konsole. Make sure you are logged in as user root (if not become root by typing 'su').
I thought that it would be in most times not wise to get only root privileges without loading the environment of root. So the command that includes the login (man su: "-, -l, --login make the shell a login shell") should be preferred, or not?
