Archive Talk:How to migrate to a new openSUSE version
SDB:System upgrade via zypper and not SDB:System upgrade via DVD
I think the title of the linked article SDB:System upgrade should be changed to avoid mistakes.--Pistazienfresser 14:57, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
For the issue abouve and for proposals of shorter titles/lemmata for this article see also: SDB_Talk:System_upgrade#SDB:System_upgrade_via_zypper_and_not_SDB:System_upgrade_via_DVD--Pistazienfresser 09:29, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
IMHO, the copy string for cp is not correct:
axel@z60m:/home> cp -b -vvv axel /media/TREKSTOR/backup_20100716/
cp: Verzeichnis „axel“ ausgelassen

- Yes, all this is highly confusing, complicate, and unreliable. If you really want to keep the article, please call it:

- The term "migration" is already taken for a special and quite comfortable upgrade procedure. For more info, check out the yast2-wagon tool. It is labeled "for Service Packs", but now or in the future it will also work for openSUSE upgrades. --Keichwa 10:02, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
- Already taken? What was first? Compare: http://old-en.opensuse.org/index.php?title=How_to_migrate_to_a_new_openSUSE_version&oldid=81101 How to migrate to a new openSUSE version] (Revision as of 12:32, 8 December 2008) and the yast2-wagon tool (where and when is that documented?).
- And what is more fitting to other similar usages of the words? Compare with: Wikipedia: Migration, Wiktionary: migrate (or in German: Migration_(Informationstechnik).
- And would it be the main way it should not be in the SDB-namespace but in the main namespace.
