Oh! My goodness - Sorry to tell you but my country Australia is part of the area in the world map known as Oceania. The Australian land mas is about the same size as the United States but we don't have their population. It takes almost 5 hours to fly from the East Coast to the West Coast of Australia

Australia has not been an English Colony for a very very very log time.....BUT you may be refering to our head of state.

Within the constitution of Australia, the Queen is our head of state, the Governor General is the Queens representative in Australia - This Constitutional Monarchy is close to the U.K, but very far from it at the same time.

Australia has a Prime Minister and Cabinet, under that there are two houses of the Parliament. The Lower and Upper House and within the upper house there are ministers in Opposition for every minister in Government...Look up the internet..

I can't believe your knowledge of World History is so poor...I was educated in Australia and I can tell your about WW-I and WW-II, The EU,The other Commonwealth Countries System of Governance, and every night on the T.V I can tell you how the DAX Stock Market has change over 24 hours...
