SuSE Linux 8.1 was released on Monday, September 30, 2002. It was the first version to include GNOME 2 and GRUB and to use CUPS by default. SuSE Linux 8.1 was preceeded by SuSE Linux 8.0 and succeeded on April 7, 2002 by SuSE Linux 8.2. SuSE Linux 8.1 reached its End of Lifetime on January 31, 2005. SuSE Linux 8.1 is still available by an FTP install or a Live Evaluation ISO.
