I would rephrase this to be like "Once you have picked a team or project, let them know you're here. Introduce yourself to the team and tell them you are looking for a team to help out in the marketing area and want to help them. Listen to any suggestions they have, and try to find out what they see as issues when it comes to marketing and promo in their team."

Otherwise, good plan.
