openSUSE:YaST styleguide why use edit
Why should I use "Edit" and not any other label?
Although the term "Edit" might be technically incorrect (e.g. you certainly can't edit your network card you are of course configuring it :-)) there is a number of reasons why the only label should be "Edit":
- when you click on "Edit" you are not editing your network card but you are editing your settings (just like when you click on "Add" you don't add a physically existing network card to your computer).
- "Edit" is used in almost all YaST modules, so consistency and user expectation is another reason
- Other operating systems (e.g. Red Hat) are using "Edit", too, so using "Edit" confirms the users expectations.
