Introduction
Geeko is the name for the chameleon mascot for both SUSE and openSUSE, who is often used in logos and promotional material. Many people get Geeko confused with a Gecko, but they are in fact a veiled chameleon.
Why a Chameleon?
According to Hubert Mantel, one of the SUSE founders, he had asked a good friend of his who studied the arts. She came up with the original chameleon logo (looking right to left, four legs). Hubert was not too excited, yet the others liked it. And thus that chameleon came into being as SUSE's logo.
