Discussion Items
- Dirk Müller to still be leading the WG focused on $topic
- Alex Lau, Bruno Leon, Ludwig Nussel & Dan Čermák will work 50% of their time on $topic
- Richard Brown and Dominique Leuenberger to help with the Factory integration and “packages move”
- Stephan Kulow and Adrian Schröter to be helping out with general direction, distribution building intricacies, etc. (no official time dedicated to this)
- Jiri Srain to be actively helping (from October) with development activities on $topic (Jiri missing during the call but I had commitment last week)
- How is this different from the previous WG?
- Additional resources to the existing WG to get things implemented.
- Stephan Barth: Who does the Project Manager work?
- Marco Varlese: I expect Dirk to be the leader of the WG (-> technical decisions)
- Gitea is the current git implementation
- Richard Brown: How is git going to be better than osc/OBS because it’s still going to be quirky? ->
- Dirk: expected outcome is to improve packaging, if it stays the same, we failed
- Marco: git packaging is back in ALP, should be in ALP GA, better in β (June 2023)
- Hendrik Vogelsang: very vague, no concrete goals
- Adrian Schröter: source centric view, software supply chain security, create minimal prototype for a product that can be cloned in git and built
- Hendrik: project management looks to be necessary
- Dirk: we collected expectations, they are vastly different
- Hendrik & Stephan would be willing to help with project management
- Hendrik: we will need someone to maintain this later
- Marco: no idea whether this will succeed, worry about this later, defer this at least until January
- Dirk: danger of scope creep
- How do we move forward?
- Dirk: will move this forward (with probably a workshop)
Action Items
- Dirk: Organize a kick-off workshop with all the people who will work on $topic to start scoping the first/next steps for the prototype
