I try to follow you guide on opensuse howdy but does not seem to work. the files in /etc/pam.d changed the structure.

I have registered my face models with howdy add

I put the line auth sufficient pam_python.so /usr/lib64/security/howdy/pam.py into /etc/pam.d/common-auth at the top but i don't see the IR leds turning on when i login in sddm as opposed to when I use howdy add or test.
