About Me edit
I'm a Linux user since 2001, when I installed the Red Hat 7.1 Seawolf with kernel 2.4, gnome 1.2, and KDE 2.1.1. In that time, I needed to buy magazines that shipped the CDs because it was kind impossible to download 2 CDs through a 56kbps dial-up connection :) . Since then, things got better and I have already used many Linux distributions, like Debian, Gentoo, Sabayon, Arch Linux, Fedora, and Linux Mint.
I was introduced to openSUSE Linux in 2013. Since then, I just can't use other Linux distribution anymore (even my wife is using it!). Hence, I decided to start contributing to the project since the end of 2015. My main contributions are:
- Maintenance of the packages in official repositories: julia, neovim, latex2rtf;
- Maintenance of the packages in community repositories: backintime, projectlibre;
- Sporadic help to fix / update some packages;
- Translation of some parts of openSUSE to Brazilian Portuguese through http://l10n.opensuse.org;
- Reporting bug to help making openSUSE experience even neater!
I received the B.Sc. degree in control and automation engineering from the University of Brasília (UnB), Brazil, and the Ph.D. degree in systems and control from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), Brazil. Since 2013, I have been with the Space System Division of the Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE), Brazil, where currently I am a Space System Engineer and Researcher.
