Automating statistics entries

Currently we have number of entries in the Weekly News that are statistics and that are currently edited manually. They are collected on different openSUSE servers and published as aggregated data in each issue.

It would increase accuracy of that data if we could update all numbers in one run short before issue goes public.

One idea is to put place holder variable in the template Weekly news full. Add sections (news) and when is issue ready to go:

  • download XML file (export function in the wiki),
  • run script that will replace placeholders with actual values stored in another file and
  • return that all to the wiki using import function.

Check one more time that all is OK and publish.
