SDB Talk:Suspend to disk

Jump to: navigation, search

On my Leap 15.0 laptop, I find nothing with "s2disk" in the filename under /var or /etc/. https://doc.opensuse.org/documentation/leap/reference/html/book.opensuse.reference/cha.power-mgmt.html says Leap hibernates to swap if swap is sufficiently big. A hibernation file is not mentioned. It would be nice though to have a dedicated hibernation file so that hibernation will always succeed. This file would have to be size of RAM + overhead. An alternative idea would be to somehow restrict swap usage so that there is sufficient swap space for all important data in RAM. Related: * 2019-02-13 [opensuse-factory] Re: upower useless on TW?
