The releasever variable on Leap

Solution 1 is using opi, but this causes trouble later, since it does not support the releasever variable. See https://github.com/openSUSE/opi/issues/32

So, it would be best not to promote the use of opi on Leap.

VLC and FFMPEG can't play DVDs after following these instructions - suggest installing smplayer

I followed these instructions and spent a couple hours debugging. VLC and FFMPEG can't open the disc, but can play the VOB files (poorly) when directly opened. VLC complains about A52 audio codec, FFMPEG error protocol not found on the device. Installing smplayer, I was able to play the disc from smplayer. VLC and FFMPEG still not working.
