HCL:Yundoo-Y8
The Yundoo Y8 is a settop box, very similar to the Firefly-RK3399.
Technical data
- Rockchip RK3399 SoC
- 2x ARM Cortex-A72 (2.0 GHz?)
- 4x ARM Cortex-A53 (1.4 GHz?)
- ARM Mali-T864 GPU
- 2 GB / 4 GB RAM
- 16 GB / 32 GB eMMC
- Micro SD
- 1x USB 3.0 host, 1x USB Type-C (including DP alternate mode), 2x USB 2.0 host
- GbE
- HDMI 2.0
- SPDIF
Contrary to the Firefly, there are no mPCIe or M.2 expansion slots, nor any GPIOs. The debug UART is available on 2.0 mm spacing solder pads at the edge of the PCB.
The debug UART baudrate is 1500000, which as of writing is not supported in screen. Use minicom or picocom instead.
Manual installation
As the hardware seems mostly identical to the Firefly-RK3399, it should be possible to run the same U-Boot and Kernel on the Y8.
Maskrom mode
The eMMC clock signal is available on the botton of the board, so forcing Maskrom mode is possible.
