GCompris-qt is educational software which provides different activities for children from 2 to 10 years old.

GCompris-qt is the rewrite of GCompris based on QT5 using the Qt Quick technology. More than 100 of the 140 activities of the old version based on Gtk+ are already present. This is the version being actively developed. It requires a graphic card able to handle OpenGL instructions.

Introduction

GCompris-qt is a completely free educational software suite which contains a wide range of activities. It offers various activities aimed at covering a variety of fields such as the functioning of the computer, using the mouse and keyboard, general learning, reading, writing, foreign languages, maths, as well as various activities such as memory and logic games, scientific experiments etc. GCompris is part of GNU project and KDE project and is provided under GPLv3+ license.

Minimal Hardware Resources

  • Processor : Dual Core Pentium
  • Memory (RAM) : 512 Mega Bytes
  • Operating system : GNU/Linux, BSD, MacOSX, Windows, Android
  • Video : A video card supporting OpenGL acceleration is mandatory.
