Pidgin (previously Gaim) is an instant messaging and collaboration application. Pidgin supports a variety of protocols, including those for AIM (AOL), Gadu-Gadu, GroupWise Messenger, ICQ, IRC, Jabber, SILC, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, and Zephyr networks.

Installing
the last stable Pidgin version is 2.2.2 and it's avaible from that Build Service repositories:

Older version are available from a this Build Service repository.
Follow these steps to install Pidgin from gnome community.
rpm --import http://software.opensuse.org/openSUSE-Build-Service.asc zypper sa -r http://software.opensuse.org/download/GNOME:/Community/openSUSE_10.2/GNOME:Community.repo zypper install pidgin pidgin-plugins-pack pidgin-otr pidgin-guifications
