To determine what hardware you are running, run the following command in your terminal:

The part in this example printed in bold is the information you are looking for. Use this to lookup your hardware in the lists that the different drivers are compatible with.
Supported hardware by open-source Radeon driver
All supported Radeon cards have good 2D and 3D support.
Here is a list of hardware supported taken from the radeon man page in 42.2 (package: xf86-video-ati, version 7.7.1). Note that this list is non-exhaustive.

Supported hardware by AMDGPU-PRO driver
Version: Leap 42.2 and newer AMDGPU-PRO driver can be installed via RPM packages in openSUSE Leap 42.2+, except openSUSE Tumbleweed.
AMDGPU-PRO driver supports most recent video cards, starting from the Radeon HD 7xxx series.

AMD Catalyst proprietary driver (fglrx)

Newer cards are supported by the AMDGPU and AMDGPU-PRO drivers, while all other cards are supported by the open-source Radeon drivers.
