HI Digitaltomm,
I am Pierre. I have a personal page in the french wiki but not yet in the english one.
I am trying to translate the page Java\Eclipse into french and have problems understanding this fragment:
Note for x86-64: the eclipse version 3.1.1 from SuSE 10.1 is the i586 version, which does not run on 64-bit jdk 1.5 which will be installed as default. Install jdk 1.5 for i586 instead, which is 32 bit, by selecting it under Versions in YaST (don't forget running update-alternatives --config javac )
Should I read Note for x86-32: [...] ?
Plus Eclipse does not seem to be on the 10.1 openSUSE DVD . Or I don't search properly :)
Can you enlight me ?
Thanks.
Answer: Hi, no it's note for x86-64. It means that there is no 64 bit version of Eclipse, and to be able to run it, you have to install the 32 bit Java version.
I am not sure, maybe it is only on the ftp tree. Greetings
Pierre: Thanks.
