Draft - Register Your mirror

A mirror can be added by anyone with a registered openSUSE account using Web interface at download.opensuse.org , using steps below.

Alternatively, a request can be sent to admin@opensuse.org including following information:

• Mirror URL;
• Country;
• email of contact person .

Additionally, following optional parameters may be included:

• Sponsor's name and url;
• Rsync url;
• ftp url.

Steps to register own mirror using Web interface

• Log into https://download.opensuse.org/login using openSUSE account credentials
• Open "My Mirrors" menu item using the green button on the top right corner or navigating [1]
• Press "new mirror" button under the table in the middle.
• Fill the required information, some hints are below:

 - Leave 'Id' column empty.
 - 'Hostname' and 'Sponsor url' must be specified *without protocol*, i.e. mysite.com (instead of ~https://mysite.com~)
 - Use two-letter codes for country and region.
 - Specify '1' in 'Enabled' column.

Once the row is added, the mirror will be included in future scans and will appear on mirrors.opensuse.org in several hours.

Adding information about admin email, FTP and rsync URLs as well as eventual notes about the mirror

• Log into https://download.opensuse.org/login using openSUSE account credentials
• Find the mirror in "My Mirrors" table at [2]
• Press on the link in the 'Hostname' column for the corresponding mirror.
• Select a corresponding value from the dropdown box under 'Private notes' table (Email / Rsync / Ftp / Note).
• Paste or type the required information to the edit box under the  'Private notes' table.
• Press 'add' button - the entry should appear in the list.

To overwrite Email, Rsync or Ftp information - just add another corresponding entry. Only the last one will be used.
