About

dosbox is a DOS emulator that, thanks to its good graphics and sound emulation, is exceptionally well-suited for playing games. dosbox features a built-in DOS operating system and transparent access to the Linux file system and is therefore very easy to use.

DOSBox also emulates CPU:286/386 realmode/protected mode, Directory FileSystem/XMS/EMS, Tandy/Hercules/CGA/EGA/VGA/VESA graphics, a SoundBlaster/Gravis Ultra Sound card for excellent sound compatibility with older games...

Hint

If sound does not work you may want to edit the midi section of the ~/.dosbox/dosbox.conf file so that it reads:

[midi]
mpu401=intelligent
midiconfig=128:0
mididevice=alsa

Note that this file is initially created after dosbox is run for the first time.
