GENERAL

  • ipw2200 wlan driver doesn't support WEP encryption anymore Bug #623592
  • typing a wrong encryption password in password popup during import fstab dialog destroys all data on encrypted partition Bug #625490

openSUSE 11.3 RC2

  • audio and video playback hangs Bug #579932

  • KDE Desktop: Device Notifier should be in the system tray by default Bug #597162

openSUSE 11.3 RC1

  • Accessing LVM partitions is not possible - Bug #598193 "udev deletes device nodes".
  • Hal is not started for the first boot after complete install Bug #613898 - for KDE desktop this means : no detection and automounting of removable devices, the battery widget is non-functional etc. It also means for KDE users that they can not make a workable LiveUSB from the .iso file by the usual "dd" technique. workaround: sudo zypper in hal ; sudo /sbin/insserv haldaemon
  • Suspend theme not yet branded Bug #610908

GNOME

openSUSE 11.3 Milestone 7

GENERAL

  • The x86_64 NET Install CD had a garbled screen for an NVidia GeForce Go 7150M graphics adapter (Bug #610352). The workaround is to add "brokenmodules=nouveau" to the Boot Options line.
  • Accessing LVM partitions is not possible - Bug #598193 "udev deletes device nodes".
  • Laptop Formfactor is not recognized by the hwinfo and some laptop defaults are not installed: (a) network setting defaults to ifup/ifdown instead of NetworkManager and (b) kernel-firmware is not installed thus wlan adapters are not working out of the box. Bug #591703

GNOME

  • Firefox crashes at start Bug #608087 - workaround: update gtk2 to the new version from the GNOME factory repo

KDE

  • Firefox and Thunderbird have same Bug #608087 as Gnome - switch gtk theme to Raleigh or use GNOME workaround

LXDE

  • LXDM always start default session Bug #607868
  • Lxpanel crasch loading background file on x86_64 Bug #609417. This bug is a duplicate of Bug #608087, the workaround is the same - update gtk2 to the new version from the GNOME factory repo

openSUSE 11.3 Milestone 6

General

  • NET/DVD 32bit install stops at openoffice_org-calc-extensions Bug #600502 - workaround: disable installation of this package
  • YaST2 lan module does not run. Bug #600576 - workarounds: Install yast2-network-2.19.25 as mentioned in Comment #10 of bug report, or edit /etc/sysconfig/network/config and enable NetworkManager
  • nouveau video driver for Nvidia hardware has some issues detecting monitors via DDC. Bug #596740 - workaround: use nomodeset and configure monitor manually.
  • A number of issues have been encountered using KMS with Intel/nouveau/radeon drivers and specific hardware configurations. Workaround: use nomodeset boot flag to disable KMS.

GNOME

  • gconf2-branding-openSUSE isn't installed by default, which causes no default settings (e.g. Sonar theme isn't used by default, two panels instead one-panel arrangement, etc...). Workaround: install gconf2-branding-openSUSE package.

KDE

  • System Monitor crashes when killing a process Bug #597156
  • sysinfo:/ ("My Computer") displays "The requested operation could not be completed - Unexpected Program Termination" in Konqueror Bug #600902

openSUSE 11.3 Milestone 5

General

  • CAN NOT BE INSTALLED ON X86-64 Bug #595545
  • LiveCD - Second stage of installation doesn't work due to testX of sax2-tools package missing Bug #585432 - Work around is to press Ctrl+Alt+F2 and killall Xorg and Alt+F1 for textual second stage.
  • DVD cannot boot Hard Disk from menu Bug #596293 - Work around is to remove DVD and reboot
  • NET Install CD cannot boot Hard Disk from menu Bug #596672 - Work around is to remove CD and reboot

KDE

  • An error occured during the startup of the Akonadi server Bug #582375

GNOME

  • Error (as superuser) when closing YaST software manager Bug #595560
  • No titlebar by default when using desktop effects (compiz) Bug #575559, workaround here.
  • Evolution crashes on startup Bug #576165. Workaround: disabling the mono plugins

openSUSE 11.3 Milestone 4

General

  • Unable to install in VirtualBox Bug #576681. Use "ipv6.disable=1" in GRUB Boot Options line as workaround. Workaround works only for the NET install CD and the DVD.
  • Other printing packages must be adapted to work with upstream compliant CUPS 1.4 on 64 bit x86-64 platform Bug #575544. Use "cd /usr/lib/cups/filter ; ln -s /usr/lib64/cups/filter/* . " as workaround Bug #591708.

KDE

  • An error occurred while accessing removable media Bug #575165

LXDE

  • Keyring doesn't work in LXDE (lxdm/pam issue) (Bug #580043) upgrade lxdm from X11:lxde repo (lxdm-0.2.0+git20100405) and gnome-keyring from GNOME:Factory (gnome-keyring-2.30)
  • pcmanfm application menu is different after killing and restarting it (Bug #591407)

openSUSE 11.3 Milestone 3

General

  • YaST logs are truncated unless Y2MAXLOGSIZE=10000 is given as parameter in linuxrc.
  • Network installations will complain about wrong SHA1sum for cracklib-dict-full (hotfix applied, real fix W.I.P.)
  • Unable to install in VirtualBox Bug #576681

LXDE

  • rcxdm stop doesn't stop lxdm (Bug #584573)
  • openbox crash with SIGABRT with gcc 4.5 (Bug #585974) (workaround: upgrade from X11:lxde or openSUSE:Factory repo)

openSUSE 11.3 Milestone 2

General

  • libjpeg7 is not provided as 32bit, possibly breaking 3rd party applications
  • yast2-installer do not fill in DISPLAYMANAGER_AUTOLOGIN into /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager if LXDE is choosed as Desktop Enviroment (Bug #581477)

GNOME

  • Impossible to save data in the keyring Bug #580043 (Bug fixed, same issue using lxdm, different problem moved to lxde in Milestone 4)

KDE

  • Autologin doesn't work on live cd

openSUSE 11.3 Milestone 1

General

  • You need to ACK the license (Bug #571846)
  • "Unsupported combination of hardware platform x86_64 and bootloader grub" (Bug #571850)
  • Graphical installation fails with less than 750 MB (Bug #571852)
  • gnome-keyring do not work outside gnome (Bug #564703)
  • Hal daemon require manual restart to work properly (Bug #578995)

GNOME

  • No titlebar when using Compiz desktop effects (Bug #575559)

KDE
