Summary
Our current infrastructure (in general) has several problems:
- lack of integration between the various tools (bugzilla, users.o.o, Build Service, translations, ...)
- no social platform that would enable easier communication between users/members
- users.opensuse.org needs to be extended to make the membership approval process easier and faster
- no central identity/social platform for users, teams, groups, roles (wiki User: pages, users.o.o, forums)
- no developers from the community involved into developing/administrating that infrastructure
This page is a recipient to collect requirements, ideas and proposals (pretty much in that order) on how to approach and solve the above mentioned issues.
This effort will be driven by the openSUSE Board.

Future Steps
Latter steps will include
- a broader discussion and collection of requirements and ideas on the opensuse-project mailinglist,
- a call for developers interested in joining the effort
- a discussion on the technical platform to use
Evaluation
Obvious candidates that should be evaluated include
- Launchpad, that is announced to be opensourced by Canonical in June 2009
- FedoraCommunity
- BuddyPress (see the experimental playground deployment at opensuse-community.com
- Drupal
- extend users.o.o (SVN repository)
- ...
