The mission of the team is to stay focused on topics around the openSUSE project to push the project forward as a part and for the benefit of the community.

Some of the main targets are

  • Distribution - help to build the best Linux distribution in an open, inviting and independent community.
  • Infrastructure - although we are already in a very good shape with the projects software infrastructure we can do even more.
  • Lower the Bar - make it easier for new contributers and users to get on speed in the project.
  • Spread the Word about openSUSE.

This is the current team of people dedicated to work on the openSUSE project with their full work time:

Please note that these are by far not all people from Novell working in the openSUSE project. All employees of Novell are encouraged to contribute to the different areas of openSUSE.

Check the list of Teams to learn more about which teams exist in the project and which Novell teams do participate.
