Description
YaST should build and run on other major distributions. Packages should be built from the same sources and special patches should be includeded upstream.

Relevance to YaST/openSUSE
YaST is very popular, but it is limited to the openSUSE community size. openSUSE can gain new developers if other people have interests in YaST too.

Short term:
- Have a package set for Fedora, with the most important modules and complete package management stack.

- Have a package set for Fedora, Mandriva and Ubuntu, with the most important modules and complete package management stack.

Typical use case
- Joe User installs Fedora. He wants to set up his web server in an easy way.
- He adds the Fedora repository from YaST project in the openSUSE build service
- He is able to run YaST in Fedora.
