VLAN configuration

Virtual LANs can be considered as a logical workgroup in a physical LAN. VLAN interfaces are virtual ethernet interfaces which represents the virtual LANs on the physical LAN. The number in the VLAN interface name is the VLAN ID, that is the number of the virtual LAN.

With YaST it's pretty easy to configure : Image:Network begin.png

  • for each VLAN you need one unconfigured device (if you don't have unconfigured device, select configured device and click "Delete" which deletes configuration)

  • click "Add" button, as Device Type select VLAN and as configuration name select or write vlan tag (it's number of your virtual network - you can connect only devices in the same network number)

  • select real device which you want to attach with vlan
