Network Bridge configuration

A bridge is a way to connect two or more Ethernet segments together in a protocol independent way.

Bridges are used when you use virtualization and want co connect virtualized machine into "real" network.

Configuration with YaST: Image:Network begin.png

  • all devices you want to have in bridge should be configured with bootproto=static, ipaddress=0.0.0.0 and netmask=255.255.255.255

  • click "Add" button, as Device Type select Network Bridge

  • in Bridged Devices list select devices you want to have in bridge

  • now select your network configuration for bridge - use dhcp or statical configuration
