This project wants to ease selection of Desktop in the installation workflow. The current solution adds all the images into the installation system, nevertheless there are, at least two other solutions when the total number (and size) of images increases.

• Download images one by one from the Add-On product... (preferred solution)
• Download images one by one from website (easily extensible solution)

Here, you need to select [x] Include Add-On Products from Separate Media and include the DSD (Desktop Selection Dialog) Add-On.

The Add-On product replaces the common desktop selection dialog with this one. Added are small screenshots of the default desktop environment (work in progress) and a push-button Show Screenshots....

Image Browser

After pressing one of the Show Screenshots... buttons, this dialog appears. In the top-left corner, there is a combo-box which you can use for switching between available screenshot-groups. The default screenshots-group depends on the fact which push-button you have pressed.

You can click on some of the images on the left side to get a detailed image. This one shows F-Spot. Selected resolution of the image always depends on the resolution of X-server which is used during the installation. The maximum size is 1024x768 (1x1 px border).
