Report a bug

To report a YaST bug please use our bug tracking tool Bugzilla.

Logs

Please always attach your log files as a compressed archive unless it is only a few lines

Standard logs

For the majority of bug reports we need your log files to find the cause of the bug.YaST writes its log files to /var/log/YaST2. To gather the logs and prepare them to be attached to your bug report please follow these instructions:

If you run YaST in graphical mode (Qt or gtk):

• press Shift+F8
• you will be prompted for a path and filename to save the logs archive
• attach this file to your bug report

If you run YaST in text mode (ncurses):

• exit YaST and type on the command line

save_y2logs /tmp/y2logs.tgz

• attach the file /tmp/y2logs.tgz to your bug report
