Xen
From openSUSE
Xen is a Virtual Machine Monitor from XenSource (founded by the original Xen developers). It is in spirit like User-Mode-Linux in that it boots a priviledged host operating system (Domain 0 or Dom0) that accesses hardware directly and provides pseudo block-devices and pseudo network-devices to unpriviledged domains (DomU).
Unlike UML, Xen allows non-Linux guest OSes to run in parallel with the host OS. It is also possible to pass direct hardware access for specific PCI devices to a DomU, thus eliminating some overhead. (Hardware pass through is currently part of Xen 3.0.4, but setup is a manual process.)
