Rsync Scheduler for KDE

Rsync files from a server to all your computers on a network without having to learn any scripting for Rsync. Provides a scheduler, allowing the computer to be kept up-to-date with files changes at convenient intervals. The whole process can be set to be fully automated. This would be an extremely useful addition to anyone with experience of time to learn rsync commands and scripting

GPL v2 KDE Users; people on the move Currently at version 1.01, so should be stable. It is also fully usable for those who may have different platforms on their network (Mac OS X and Windows)

Autostart manager for KDE A KControl tool for managing what programs start up with KDE. (~/.kde/Autostart and ~/.kde/env), run when KDE shuts down (~/.kde/shutdown) GPL KDE users The software is still beta but I hope it will be mature for the next openSUSE release
KBFX Alternative and themeable launcher-button/-menu for KDE GPL Me and probably more people Just some nice eyecandy which makes the Suse KDE layout look more 'modern' in my opinion. When used with a Suse specific theme [1] KDE suddently looks really nice ;-) Have a look at a screenshot: [2] (I also removed the applet handles from the taskbar). available here
KDE USB umount Service Menu KDE Service Menu for "safe" umounting of usb sticks - or something similar to this GPL everyone Because people have been trained to want the computer to tell them when to pull it out.

KlipOQuery online-dictionary GPL users Panelapplet for KDE. You just highlight a word and it translates it using e.g. LEO or Babel.
Kochizz
(I'm told this is available from packman now)
A Qt4-based GUI tool to get to grips with the Apache2 configuration. GPL pipitas A first (superficial) review.

Screenshots: one + two + three

Kochizz can display (and edit) the original configuration files in source form as well as in a GUI. The source editor has good syntax highlighting. The GUI editor conserves all your existing and personal comments in the config file. Kochizz can handle multiple configuration versions (or configs representing different Apache servers) at once, via tabs. It can create a single config file (and save it under an new name) from a multitude of sub files that are nested into each other by 'Include' statements).

kydpdict kydpdict is a qt-front-end to some commercial Polish<->X (German, English, French) dictionaries. However, there is also one free dictionary included with the latest version. GPL Niwi-hh There is no free and complete German/French/English<->Polish dictionary available yet. That's why this front-end is really important for Polish people and also for people interested in learning Polish.

x2go x2go is a fast remote desktop connection suite based on NoMachine's NX libraries; you can scale it up to enterprise level or slim it down to personal use only for an "everywhere@$HOME" use-case GNU GPL pipitas To say it first: x2go is *not* compatible with FreeNX, nor with QtNX, nor with NoMachine's NX servers nor NoMachine's client. However, x2go does base its remote desktop access on NoMachine's NX libs -- but it implements 'the rest' differently: mainly sound/printer/fileshare tunnelling, user authentication for now (example: uses sshfs for file sharing; LDAP for user admin+auth; printing and sound do not work yet). x2go client is Qt4-based (Win32 version available).

x2go developers don't care much about accessing Windows remotely -- their main concern is Linux/Unix.

Coolest feature for now: store your authentication data on a USB stick or a SmartCard. Remove stick/card from client -- your remote session is suspended; stick it in again (even on a different client) -- your session is immediately resumed.

They have their configuration module completely integrated into KDE's Control Center. See also their their screenshots. One part of that control center module can be used completely independent from x2go for LDAP and SAMBA administration.

x2go is still under heavy development, but very well usable already.

qt4-qtruby complete bindings to both the KDE API and the Qt APIs for Ruby GPL KDE/QT Developers DiveNvrsk The Korundum package includes both a QtRuby Qt-only binding along with the full combined Qt/KDE one. The QtRuby package contains just Qt bindings with no dependencies on KDE. It's nice and quick to develop utils at Ruby with Qt bindings. You love Ruby, i saw Ruby bindings for YaST (:
TTCut TTCut is a small tool which allows to edit DVB stuff, cutting out advertisments GNU GPL prodigy7 I try to compile it under OpenSUSE 10.3 but has not success.
