Feature requests for openSUSE are managed with the openFATE tool. Everyone with an openSUSE/Novell account is entitled to add feature requests to the database, comment or vote on features.

You may use the page below as a white board for your ideas, but keep in mind that there is no guarantee that feature requests on this page will make their way into openFATE.

In order to get your request added to the openFATE database, first make sure your request does not already exist.
For more information see the openFATE documentation.

To add a new wish to our OpenSUSE-Medical Wishlist, just follow these steps:

You should log in with your openSUSE-Wiki account (not necessary, if you just want to search). Click on this link, scroll down and click on the Log In link in the middle of the page. Enter your Username and Password from your openSUSE-Wiki Account in the form fields and click on "Log In". You will be redirected to http://bugzilla.novell.com afterwards.

Search Reports

Click on "Search Reports" to get an overview about the current wishes. Choose the Product "Wishlist" and click on "Search" - or limit the result by entering search keywords like the name of your application.

Now you get a list of all search results - click on an "ID" to get a detailed information about a wish. Do this also if you want to write a comment.

Enter a new "bug"

If you didn't find your application feel free to open a new bug report.

Click on the New Bug link on the top left corner.

The new form should show:

  • Classification: "All" or "Wishlist"
  • Product: "Wishlist"

Click on "submit" to open the detailed formular.

Here you should fill out at least the two fields:

  • Summary: Please enter the name of the application, a hyphen, and a short summary, what the application does
  • Description: Please add at least a link to the applications homepage in this field - and try to tell us more about the application and why this application is useful for schools or universities. Note: the more the merrier - if you arouse interest in the packagers, the chance to get it done is much higher as if you just say "I need it".

You can also adjust the Severity and enter the Main-URL in the URL-Field - but these are just the icing on the cake...

And that's it! It's really that easy. Please be so cute and re-visit your "bug" from time to time - and "ping" the developers if nothing happens in the meantime.
