Miscellaneous Issues
- No "show keyboard status" indicator in KDE4: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165402 Dotancohen 09:34, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- kbstateapplet has appeared in kde playground (as mentioned in above bug) and looks like this Airdvd 20:23, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Issues with Desktop
- Horizontal alignment of desktop folder icons on desktop
- Are you saying that you cannot enable horizontal alignment of desktop folder icons on the desktop, or that you do not like the horizonal alignment of desktop icons? Please be specific and use complete sentences, not hints, so that I could file a useful bug. Thanks. Dotancohen 09:34, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- The icons cannot be aligned horizontally in 'Folder view' desktop activity type. Also the icons can be positioned manually, but KDE will reset the position on next login
- Desktop Settings
- Unable to set background on a per window basis
- Changing to other than 'plain desktop' causes plasma to crash.
- Screen Wrap
- Using 'systemsettings' (in user mode) to turn off 'wrapping' around from the edge of one window to another does not work. Does it work after a restart? --Anton aylward 17:35, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Issues with Panel
- User controlled transparency on panel
- Please comment on https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165795 and https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158988 Dotancohen 13:06, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
- System Tray icons that scale down to at least a 24px (kde3's smallest panel) to stay no the page
- Is this relevant: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136226 ? If so, then please comment on the bug. If not, then please file a new bug or post a screenshot so that I can file one. Thanks. Dotancohen 13:20, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
- Items vanish from System Tray
- After being logged in and some activity the network manager and the auto-update icons vanish. They aer restored on logging out then back in. No idea as to cause. --Anton aylward 21:01, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Those are KDE3 Applications. They disappear after plasma crashes for example. They will show up again, if you start another KDE3 application with an icon in the System Tray, like amarok. --Johnjanus 22:56, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

- Height of Panel issues
- (With panel at bottom or top) The system tray appears as a single line with large top and bottom margins. It does not stack until the heigh of the panel is 50px or greater. At 50px there is two lines of the tray and no margin above and below. This seems to be the minimum height as the icons won't scale any smaller.
- (With panel at bottom or top) The task manager doesn't stack in the way the KDE3 one did. Someone (?who? - see http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=83177&forumpage=2) submitted a plasma_applet_tasks.so that had been modified to behave like the KDE3, and I found it great ... until 4.1.1! This raises many issues of how the task manager and the panel should be able to be configured. --Anton aylward 17:33, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Order of programs in Task Manger
- In KDE3 the order of the programs/icons in the task manager was the same as the order in the windows. Now it is the order in which the programs were started. (?) This seems to vary under some "asynchronous" conditions like startup and can be altered by starting and stopping programs. While the algorithm is consistent it is disruptive to the UI. --Anton aylward 17:33, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- KMix change master channel
- Certainly available in KMix 4.1.2. Right-click on KMix icon and choose Select Master Channel...
- Unable to change icon size in the Kickoff menu, e.g. Large, medium, small. Currently, all icons in Kickoff are very large, and so the menu takes up a large amount of space. If there are many submenus, then you need to scroll the menu (clunky) or resize it (taking up even more space).
Issues with KDE Applications
- The ability to extract archives or compress them from the context menu in Dolphin, I think this is still in Konqueror, for more information see the following links for more details: http://lizards.opensuse.org/2008/07/12/extract-and-compress-right-click-menu-on-kde4/ http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=168177 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=408650. vendion 17:06, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Kipi plugins. Nowhere near as good as kde3
- Which plugins? Please be very specific, so that I could file a bug. Thanks. Dotancohen 09:34, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- KMail does not support S/MIME certificates https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=187913
