Deleted my first attempt as not relevant now discovered Smart
Pleased with Win 10.0 , but thought I'd put brandnew install of 10.1 on a second machine. Obviously (from browsing around as well as my experience) lots of problems initially with the updating software of 10.1. At one time seemed to have updated with the numerous patches available, but the new combined yast/zmd updating still had problems until end of July. Then found the SMART HowTO very well written and enabled me to obtain the recent yast and zmd etc update patches and now 10.1 seems fine, but a lot of time wasted getting there. Still only managed to install with Smart one patch at a time so used the updated Yast/zenupdater to complete all (a great number) of patches. Would be good to know how to use Smart for installing "all" available update patches without listing each separately.
- Richard, please use regular system update facility Software Updater, as it is doing what you want from Smart with additional benefit that YaST knows about updates. For more help options please look at Communicate page and choose mail list or news group that you like. --Rajko M 00:16, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
