My name is Scott Valcourt, and I am the Research Project Manager for the University of New Hampshire Computer Science Department. (http://brave.sr.unh.edu/sav) My activity within the Department is to work with companies and organizations in developing and researching tools and techniques that apply the learning from CS research. Most of my work is involved in software system design, testing and security of software systems, and standardization of network protocols and highly-available systems. As the need for data management and deployment of systems in the educational field continues to expand, the management models of public education require new tools, systems and models to meet regulations and demands of public school officials and communities. All of this needs to be done in a way that is both commplete and economical. I intend to bring my experience in system design and management, as well as my research in building COTS communcations systems for public safety officers, to this project to help school districts as wide as possible.
