That's me. The guy on the left. The gentleman on the right is Marcus Meissner.

With one short interruption, I have been with S.u.S.E. since October 1998, and have stopped counting all the CEOs I have survived. I mostly work on SLES for S/390 and zSeries. I am also maintaining the stable branch of FuseCompress, the only working transparent-compression filesystem for Linux, and the openSUSE QEMU package.

In my spare time I am running the emulation and vintage gaming site emulinks.de and accompanying blog, and when I have an acute fit of nonlaziness, I play golf.

Sofware-wise, I have written a neat eBook reader for TomTom 730/930 GPS devices with speech output (Lecturer). I have also done some development for vintage Commodore and Sinclair systems. You can find most the rest of my privately written open-source software (read: a lot of old gunk) here.

Another thing that may be of interest to some people is ddiwrapper, my printer driver wrapper that allows you to use printer drivers for Windows XP in Linux. It currently supports most Canon printers. The casual user may be better off using TurboPrint, though...

(Oh, and I don't smoke any more.)
