Long time SuSE user from Central Indiana
I am retired from General Motors where I was a supervisor in a metal stamping plant in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. I have dabbled in computers since purchasing a Commodore VIC-20 in the late `70s, but no formal training. I am also an avid amateur photographer mostly in youth sports using Nikon equipment.
Primarily a dos user after leaving the Commodore 128 and cp/m, I investigated win3 and, unhappy with function and stability, participated in the early OS/2 betas. I tried minix and some early downloads of linux onto floppy disks. When IBM dropped the ball with OS/2 marketing/production/development, I immediately moved to Mandrake Linux.
When Mandrake appeared to be going down the tubes, I saw a box of SuSE 6.X on the BestBuy shelf and jumped ship, never looking back.
