He started his Linux and OpenSource quest in 2001, when he just got his MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) certification in Windows 2000 Server. After that he becomes more and more interested in Linux. He served as BPK Penabur's Head of System and Information Department from early 2002 to late 2005. During this time, he setup several Linux servers and maintain a collocated server as system administrator. Later on, he joined Astrido Group as Head of IT Section where he coordinated team of staffs to support IT activities in 15 branches. He also setup several Linux servers ranging from internet gateway, web, ftp, mail, file, fax and database server.
He got his certification on RedHat Certified Engineer in mid 2006 and now serves as one of Bajau's engineer and instructor. He loves teaching and writings. In his spare time he writes Linux articles and tutorials in his personal website (http://linux2.arinet.org). The website arguably has become one of the most known Linux Tutorial site in Indonesia, with more than 5000 registered members and counting.
His skills include installing, setting up and maintaining Linux servers with these services: firewall, proxy, web, ftp, database, mail, fax, clustering, etc. And recently he was sent to RedHat's training center in Singapore to take Red Hat Enterprise Storage Management training covering the use of RedHat's Cluster Suite and Global File System. He always believes in Linux and OpenSource values. In 2004 he was appointed as one of Indonesia participants to attend AsiaSouce in Bangalore, India. This 10 days event was a gathering of all OpenSource activists from all over asia, sponsored by UNDP and other OpenSource organizations. His favorite quote about Linux is “Return the favor of all your seniors in OpenSource by helping all newbies after you” (by I Made Wiryana).
