At first: No photo from me. :)
I've studied Computer Sciense at the Fachhochschule Landshut (University of Applied Sciences Landshut). My diploma thesis was about porting Linux drivers to real-time extensions, namely RTAI and Xenomai. I also worked with colleagues on porting the GDB remote debugging part to a new hardware device. In my second practical training, I was working in a team where evaluated Intel network processors and developed sample programs for this.
I'm using Linux since 2000, my first Linux was SUSE Linux 6.3. I was fascinated about that system, so I used Linux more and more and also worked in the OpenSource community. Mostly bug-reporting, doing package work at Packman and in the openSUSE Build Service, but also own project such as Muttprint, QPaMaT (Password Manager) and a lcdproc driver for a ULA-200 device and a lcdproc client.
After I finished my study, I joined SUSE. I'm in the ARCH_Team. I'm the maintainer of Kdump and LKCD including the debugging tools like crash and lcrash. I also work on the kernel on the x86_64 architecture in general, mostly hardware enablement. And finally I'm packaging several packages in the distribution and BuildService, such as helping Pavol with the Xfce packages since that's the desktop of my choice so I have a very own interest that this desktop works in SUSE.
