BIO
My name is Marc Benstein. I am 32 years old as of December 2007. I work as a software developer working primarily as a Java Desktop Application Developer. I also enjoy C programming and am fumbling around with Python. Software is my passion and has been since I was 11 years old and hacking my Apple IIe. I am a member of the ACM as well as a former computer science student at the University of New Mexico. I have been interested in SUSE since version 5.3. Although I dwelled deeply in many other distributions since 1998, including a Fedora based server/workstation administration job at the university, I have finally come back to SUSE, faithfully since version 9.1. While working at the university I found myself writing a lot of RPM spec files. Since then, I typically avoid that sort of thing as I am busy filling daily bug reports to netbeans.org. I would love to give birth to a best of both worlds (Eclipse + Netbeans) IDE. Actually the only thing I would take from netbeans is Matisse and Java Application Framework support. I am a rabid KDE/Openbox, Konqueror, Evolution, zypper, amarok, and Netbeans freak.
