Unionfs
Unionfs is a stackable file system that is used to create livecds and merged directory views. Unionfs does not ship with openSUSE at this time, nor can the base patches be built against the openSUSE 10.3 kernel. It is possible to use Unionfs on openSUSE 10.3 with a little patching.

Patching and Build Unionfs as an External Module
The Unionfs patches modify parts of the kernel's vfs code so it is not possible to build Unionfs as an external module to an existing kernel at this time.
